Infinite Responder
One headache has been removed and I’m delighted to have completed the install of Infinite Responder.
I blogged previously about the concept of an auto-responder and also covered some of the many benefits these things bring to an online business.
The issue was that one of my free courses, by e-mail, was effectively out of order for a while (long enough to notice serious changes in purchases) due to the non-payment of a subscription (I forgot, well I was also was very un-happy with the service).
Initially I felt I’d solve this issue by tracking down the software that was used by the company I had paid a subscription to, which was hotresponders, which then became clickformoreinfo, and has probably morphed into something else now. These were company names though and the actual script is called easyresponder and available through http://www.perlcoders.com/ as a free download if you are a member.
So I was willing to pay a couple hundred bucks for this script, which I did finally get hold of to evaluate [cough], yet as this was written in perl I was somewhat lost with trouble shooting and error detection. To many errors and I needed a quicker solution.
In my searching I discovered an excellent php solution which runs off a MySQL database, very easy to install and within an hour I had loaded 10 e-mails and set time intervals for these to arrive over a period of 21 days.
The listed features are:
• GPL licensed!
• Subscription confirmation
• Easy web-based subscription
• Unlimited messages
• Individual message send times
• Full admin control panel
• Unlimited responders
• User list importer
• HTML and Text email support
• Configurable inactivity timeouts
• Database email search
• Input security features
• Remote subscription wrapper
• Complete unsubscribe handler
Sorted.

Infinite Responder
I've installed Infinite Responder and it works great except that the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email shows the script address rather than the server address.
Are you using the free version or did you buy a fix of some sort?
Cheers

Have you ever wanted a completely customizable free self-hosted autoresponder script? To set the times you want? For as many messages and users as you want?
Infinite Responder is an autoresponder & newsletter hybrid that allows you to send as many messages, as many emails to as many lists as you want. It can behave as both a sequential autoresponder and a newsletter mailer.
I created it years ago in order to send out e-courses without buying a big, expensive package for hundreds (or thousands) of dollars. I wanted to be able to import my own lists and send from my own server without having to deal with the headaches of going thru a 3rd party.
And so here it is. Years of support and several bursts of development later we've got a pretty sophisticated package.

Since it’s a script, you have to host it on your own domain. This has some advantages, since all the links involved are to your own domain. But, you have to install it and configure it. The author has an installation service if PHP and MySQL isn’t your thing. He charges $30 for the installation. If you don’t have much experience with PHP and MySQL, I’d recommend paying for the installation

Infinite Responder allows for sending broadcasts (called bursts) to all subscribers. Text and HTML emails are supported throughout.
Link tracking is not supported, so if that’s important to you you’ll also need an ad tracker.
Overall, the feature set in Infinite Responder is quite good, but it’s a little harder to use than most hosted autoresponders. I’ll give it a B+ for features, and an A+ for value.
Infinite Responder
I have used infinite responder for a few years. I think it is an excellent program and easy to set up and use. Aaron installed it for me a few years ago and I recently did an install myself with success. So if I can do it, you can too! I have a slight problem and maybe someone who uses infinite responder can help. I lost my username and password to gain access to the admin account. Is there a file where that information resides? Would it be safe to upload a fresh admin.php file and reset admin password and username? Will it affect my sql database? Thanks for any response.

Help me to change Infinity Responder's time into my local time.
Hi everybody!
Here is Harry from far, cold country of evergreen tomatos. That's Saint-Petersberg, Russia. Please, help me to change a setting of Infinity Responder. This script has a time of Indiana, USA or GMT-8h. I need in My Local time or GMT+3h. The question is how can I do this change? Thanks to all.
