I’m not sure if I should cross my fingers, or prey. Well neither would instill any faith in me, but perhaps one of those options may provide some solace? Or would my solicitors be more appropriate? … hmmm
I’m trying to get my domain, yes MY DOMAIN, registered, or more to the point de-registered from UK2.net.
I must say this company is a piece of work and incredibly difficult to deal with, to the point that I imagine most people would give up, rest assured that ain’t an option in my case!
UK2.net, the internet answer to budget airlines (or so they’d like you to believe) register domains through Tucows, yet provide the user who signs up through UK2, ZERO option for renewing their domain registration without buying domain space. Fascist? – definitely.
The process to “move out” your registered domain is convoluted to say the least, and as I am mid-way through that, we have yet to see if it is actually possible.
Apparently you stumble across a form (the second page was mentioned) that you are supposed to sign and fax (see above) as proof of your desire to switch to an alternative registration company, who do not enforce you to buy domain space, yeah really, can you believe that?
I mean fax, FAX in 2006, amazed?
So the state of play is that I have faxed this form (the second page is not a form at all) off to the number that “will be shown”, of course never was, I had to e-mail for that, (was busy for three hours) they provided another through e-mail, and I got my fax confirmed as sent, evidence!
So now I wait to see if this will happen, all eyes on you then UK2.
